Artist & Activist Ambassador Program

Our mission over the next 3-5 years is HUGE!

Our vision is to expand throughout the entire state of Florida by 2022 in preparations to go nationwide. This is where you come in.

In 2017 we are looking to increase visibility, offer 30 workshops, and bring 12 of our campaigns into six counties.

In each county we will need at least 3 ambassadors taking on the following roles:

  • Education & Awareness

  • Empowerment Programs

  • Fundraising & Events

 

Purpose of each role: Assist in the collaboration efforts with The Forgotten Women Project by building and maintaining partnerships within the following areas….

Education & Awareness Theatre and Thespian Community for The Languages of Abuse, Craft Activism and Short Films.

Empowerment Workshops– local businesses and Behavioral Health community for Empowerment Workshops.

Fundraising Events– local community to plan small to mid-size donor cultivation, campaign activities and increase supporter base.

Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Identify the community partnerships for future projects and events.
  • Make initial contact to present project.
  • Coordinate and plan events with the community partner.
  • Working along with local ambassador team.
  • Keep track of hours.

Skills/Talents/Abilities: Strong communication skills. Ability to provide clear & useful information in a gracious, respectful, and helpful manner to the community. Act in a professional manner while representing the organization. Ability to work independently.  Ability to build strong relationships with new people and organizations.

These positions are part-time, for 1-2 days a week, and require a 1-year commitment. These positions provide valuable experience for leadership, event planning and fundraising management. Individuals with an interest in gaining experience in the non-profit sector or the area of Women’s Issues; and anyone with passion for empowering women. Volunteers are highly valued members of our organization and contribute to making a significant difference in our ability to help more women and children affected by abuse. FWP is also willing to provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete our Ambassadors Program.
